Scandal's Bride by Stephanie Laurens

I wish that Alex and Rosie’s relationship moved at a faster pace because then the readers would be able to read their relationship grow and feel satisfied at the end. It took them half their lives to realize that they loved each other. Rosie’s clumsy, free-spirit personality and Alex’s funny, caring character allows the readers to believe in their enduring story.Īlthough I appreciate Ahern’s sense of humor and writing style, I did dislike the fact that she took so long for Rosie and Alex to be together. Another thing I enjoyed the book was the believable characters. It was so frustrating and unfortunate that they are constantly being separated. This scene was a very heart-breaking moment because this is the part where Rosie and Alex could finally be together. When Alex left Rosie a letter expressing his love for her, Greg, Rosie’s husband, takes the letter before Rosie could read it. But this book is not just full of funny and cute scenes, there are many sad and heartbreaking moments as well, especially the scenes when Alex and Rosie are constantly being separated each time they are so close to expressing their feelings toward each other. Like the time you meet your best friend or the first time you tell someone you like them. This book has many funny and awkward moments about childhood and adolescence that allows teenagers to relate to their own lives. I was able to relate to the story because of how Ahern wrote and set up the story. Throughout the book, the readers wonder if Rosie and Alex are meant to fall in love or remain friends. With life and all the problems with it in the way, they continuously miss each opportunity to be together. Since they were five years old, Alex and Rosie were inseparable, but when Alex suddenly moves from Dublin to Boston their relationship changes because of the distance. “Where Rainbows End” (known as “Love, Rosie” in the United States) is a story told through letters, emails and instant messaging about Rosie Dunne and Alex Stewart who continue to be best friends despite many hardships they face together.
